Katelyn Henshall with Extra Butter and MamaLouder

Katelyn Henshall fuses pop, R&B, and soul into something uniquely her own. Well suited for a whiskey lounge- with a voice described as smoky and rich, like a chocolate stout, that quickly has you craving more.

This December, Katelyn is beyond excited to play alongside a full band, joined by Dónal Gunning, Angus Webb, and Oliver Dudziak. After their debut as headliner in October they are looking forward to getting back up on stage. Stay tuned to hear reimaginings of her singles “Incandescent” and “You’d Be The One (Now I Know It Too)”, in addition to her other originals.

Support by Extra Butter and MamaLouder.

The butter baby was born when three mates teamed up with two beautiful strangers for a jam. Since their 2020 debut, Te Whanganui-a-tara based indie rock/alternative band Extra Butter have evolved into a six piece ear treat consisting of vocals, saxophone, guitar, bass, keys and drums. The soundscape of Extra Butter provides sonic illustrations for a variety of scenarios from cicada season hangs in the backyard and sultry smoke filled speakeasies to gravel pits under peak heat and swamps with both treasures and tricks waiting to be found. The band’s debut EP, Zephyr, released last year, offered the repertoire of the band’s formative years. Their next releases are to be expected in the coming season, offering a smorgasbord of sounds. Drawing on the paradoxical complexities of relationships and the human condition, Extra Butter is an ever evolving unit of introspection as sound and performance.

Mamalouder! Wellington based band of Latin flair and Kiwi soul. This 5-piece band brings you soulful original blues rock, born from the cultural melting pot of Latin America and Aotearoa. Get ready for stirring guitar riffs and soulful vocals that'll move you! Kia ora, vamos a rockear!

Psilly Psy: Dubstep Edition

Welcome back to another Psilly Psychedelia. A celebration on life.
This year will sound a bit different to last year as we have a couple of Dubstep djs to throw down some fat, gangster tunes.

I will be celebrating my 21st bday and hope that everyone will join. This is a public event for anyone's entertainment. We will also be celebrating James' bday, a legend who I'm sure most of you will know.

The night will start with some groovy psytech which will shortly flow into Dubstep. It will stay at Dubstep/Bass music for most of the night and will eventually end with some experimental psy.
I will also be trying something interesting with the visuals which I haven't seen done quite like this before. a bit of an experiment really.

Lineup:
7 - 7.45. Psilo
7.45 - 8.30. ZiggyYiggy
8.30 - 9.15. Lejam x Gandoof
9.15 - 10.15. Skulli
10.15 - 11. Dr. Pseuss
11 - 12/Close. Surprise

Entry will be $10 on the door to cover venue fee.

Hope to see new and old faces there

Libbianski EP release show with Wince and Cold Ceiling

Libbianski return for the end of 2025 to release their brand new EP - "Episode 1" along with some great bands across the motu.

LIBBIANSKI -

"Libbianski returns to the music screen as a thunderous 3-piece tightening their sound adding grungy, post metal influences whilst still keeping their ethereal shoegaze background. With their most recent single "CONTINUE THE SAD" released in late November, their next musical offering is "EPISODE 1", a raw DIY album recorded with Over The Hill Records that promises to deliver."

WINCE -

"Wince - A showcase of absurdity, Wince strives to make you just a little bit uncomfortable with their disorientingly dissonant grind and groove"

COLD CEILING -

"Cold Ceiling is a three piece based in Auckland, offering their latest record I Must Be Closer to the NZ scene in April 2025. Their brand of blackened post metal is just what Kurt wanted for his birthday and by god is he going to get it?"

Tickets are $20 on the door , presale tickets are $15 through UTR

Shai Hulud

SHAI HULUD
AOTEAROA TOUR 2026

TICKETS UTR.CO.NZ

Following their triumphant reunion show with former vocalist Geert van der Velde at Furnace Fest 2024, legendary American progressive metalcore band Shai Hulud is thrilled to announce their return to the road in 2025. The upcoming world tour will mark Shai Hulud’s first extended run of shows in over a decade, featuring van der Velde on vocals.

The Furnace Fest performance was a monumental moment in the band’s history, bringing together, for the first time since 2004, the full lineup that recorded the landmark 2003 album That Within Blood Ill-Tempered. For many fans, it was the first chance to see van der Velde back on the mic, and he did not disappoint. If anything, his vocals have grown stronger and even more ferocious with time, while the chemistry on stage was undeniable, a testament to the band’s enduring spirit and technical mastery. Fans and newcomers alike were left buzzing about the energy, emotion, and sheer force of the performance.

While the upcoming world tour will feature Shai Huluds current lineup, van der Velde will helm vocal duties for all shows, delivering performances that span the band’s celebrated catalog, including a spotlight on tracks from That Within Blood Ill-Tempered.

Shai Hulud is back. Stronger. Louder. And more pissed off than ever before and happy to return to Aotearoa after twenty years

SUMAC

Banished Music, Whammy Bar, and Valhalla are proud to present the long-awaited New Zealand debut of experimental post-metal trio SUMAC.
Formed in 2014, the powerhouse trio comprised of Aaron Turner (guitar, vocals; Isis, Old Man Gloom), Brian Cook (bass; Russian Circles, Botch), and Nick Yacyshyn (drums; Baptists) are renowned for merging crushing heaviness with improvisational freedom, exploring the boundaries between structure and chaos.

SUMAC have built a reputation as a fearsome live band. Visceral and cathartic shows where crushing riffs & sprawling drones collide with extended bursts of wild improvisation. In 2024, the band released their critically acclaimed album The Healer, a sweeping, transformative work spanning four monumental tracks. The record dives deep into themes of regeneration, suffering, and spiritual reconstruction — a testament to the band’s ability to meld raw power with emotional depth.

The experimental metal trio’s four-song, 76-minute album is the peak of their career. It’s dense and invigorating, highlighting the band’s dexterity, creativity, and clarity of purpose. - Pitchfork

Soon after the release SUMAC teamed up with poet and sound artist Moor Mother to release The Film, a boundary-pushing collaborative album. Released via Thrill Jockey in April 2025, the record unfolds as a cinematic journey across eight “scenes,” merging SUMAC’s heavy, jazz-inflected textures with Moor Mother’s incisive spoken-word commentary.

SUMAC’s work has always been about transition between different states of being. Our sense of normal, and indeed our sense of life, is now being shaken. We don’t know what is coming next. We are looking for pointers towards the future, as well as things to hold onto in the moment.
New Zealanders, don’t miss this rare and powerful journey into uncharted sonic terrain.
